Still the most powerful and flexible option, and the engine behind a huge share of the web. WordPress excels at content: blogs, publications and sites that will grow into something bigger, with a vast library of themes and plugins to extend it in any direction. The hosted WordPress.com makes it far easier to run than the self-managed version.
The trade is complexity: more concepts to learn than a drag-and-drop builder, and the freedom to over-complicate a simple site. For anyone who wants room to grow and no hard limits, nothing else matches its ceiling.
